Australasian Mangrove and Saltmarsh Network Conference 2026

24 - 27 November, 2026 | UOW Innovation Campus, Wollongong

About AMSN 2026

The Australasian Mangrove and Saltmarsh Network (AMSN) Conference 2026 will bring together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and community partners from across Australasia and beyond to share knowledge, build collaborations, and explore the future of coastal wetlands. The conference will provide a dynamic forum to showcase the latest science, management approaches, and on-ground initiatives focused on mangrove and saltmarsh ecosystems.

Resilient Wetlands. Connected Communities. Future Coasts.

Under the theme Resilient Wetlands, Connected Communities, Future Coasts, AMSN 2026 will explore how coastal wetlands are responding to environmental change, and how we can strengthen resilience through integrated science, management, and community partnerships. The program will highlight advances in Earth observation, field-based monitoring, restoration and blue carbon, alongside Indigenous-led and community-driven approaches to coastal management.

The conference will feature two days of presentations, a poster session, conference dinner, a field trip showcasing the Illawarra’s coastal wetlands, and a final day of interactive workshops designed to foster collaboration and practical outcomes.

AMSN has long provided a vital platform for connecting science, management, and community. AMSN 2026 continues this tradition—offering an inclusive and engaging space to exchange ideas, share experiences, and shape the future of mangrove and saltmarsh research and management.

Registrations open June 2026. We look forward to welcoming you to Wollongong.
